Are you interested in improving translation processes in TYPO3? Do you want to simplify, optimize, and professionalize translations? If so, we invite you to join the Translation Handling Initiative! During the TYPO3 Developer Days 2023, we will be meeting with like-minded individuals who want to be a part of this new initiative. Everyone with an interest in TYPO3 and translations is welcome!

The Main Goal
Revolutionizing the Translation Workflow
The main goal of this initiative is to revolutionize the translation workflow for all TYPO3 users, including editors, integrators, developers, translators, and anyone affected by translation processes. We aim to make it more efficient and user-friendly.
The idea for this initiative emerged from a thought-provoking session titled "Rethinking Translation Handling" at the TYPO3 Camp Central Germany 2022. Inspired by the community's response, we are now seeking input and feedback at the TYPO3 Developer Days and engaging in online discussions with user groups.
To better understand the challenges faced by TYPO3 users, we are going to conduct a detailed survey within our target groups to guide our future efforts.

By joining us, you'll have the opportunity to actively contribute to shaping the goals, solutions, and approaches of the initiative. We will work collaboratively to determine the team structure and establish rules for effective collaboration.
In the short term, we aim to form a foundational team of experts in TYPO3, translation management, and project coordination. We will document the current state of translations in TYPO3, develop a survey to gather community ideas, and identify specialized individuals to implement promising solutions. We will also set goals, milestones, and timelines for each team.
Long-Term Vision
Continuous improvement
Beyond the short term, we plan to coordinate resources, work closely with the TYPO3 Core Team and funding partners, and develop and test prototypes for the proposed changes.
Our long-term objectives include successfully implementing innovative ideas and integrating new features into the TYPO3 Core. We will continuously improve documentation based on user feedback and evolving requirements, collaborating with the TYPO3 community to optimize translation management.
